Amazing Day

Since moving to Alberta we have been very blessed to have some wonderful people in our lives and this couple is no exception. I have posted before about one very special Uncle Doug well he is now with a very special Auntie Gill as of Fri. they were sealed in the Edmonton Temple and we were very honoured to be apart of this wonderful ceremony and reception. It has been almost 13 years since Jamie and I were sealed in the Seattle Temple and what a joy it was to see this young couple married and to remember our own wonderful day.

In the evening we were able to take the kids to their reception and Stefan tried to hold out for the cake but he just didn't make it and fell asleep on Jamie. So cute.
This is the beautiful cake that my best friend Renea made (the picture doesn't really do it justice). She is one of the most talented people I know. She makes the most amazing cakes that taste divine. He husband did the wedding video and one day I can't wait for him to do my own children's videos. :)
This is the amazing couple. They are such special people and we couldn't be happier for them.
Doug is someone that my boys really look up to and for good reason. He is the type of person that you are just drawn to and now with his beautiful wife they make an amazing couple. Doug has served our nation in Afghanistan and we were so thankful when he made it home safely. He is still serving in the army.
Earlier in the evening Rylan was at a birthday party where they were decorating sugar cookies and was adamant that he needed to make two for Doug and Gill. He put blue icing on Doug's with his name and Gills with red icing and her name. Doug and Gill were great about receiving the cookies and told him that they would eat them later with him and the amazing thing is that they did. They took the time during their busy reception to get the cookies and eat them with Rylan and have his picture taken with them. This was such a special moment that I will never forget.
I am sure you can tell that I have a very soft spot for these two people and we wish them all the best in their marriage.
This is my best friend Renea (Doug's older sister). She is such a wonderful friend and her family has really welcomed us. We don't get to see each other as much as we would like as our kids get older life seems to get busier but what a joy it is when we do have time to sit and talk. We are looking forward to spending Christmas Eve with her and her family.
We love you Doug and Gill
