Father and Son in Yellowknife

Another father son trip and this time it is Jamie and Darien.  They went up to Yellowknife for three days to do some fun outdoor exploring of the North in the summer time and boy did they have fun.

The did a couple of hikes and this one was to an amazing water fall.

The scenery is amazing.  I think this is something that I would like to do some time.  LOL

Who knew that it was so beautiful up there.  Having only seen it covered in snow.

The place were they stayed had bikes for them to use, so they did a lot of riding into the city and exploring that way.  I think at one point Darien had to ride on a flat tire.

They rented a canoe and even ventured out onto Great Slave Lake.  They said it was harder than it looked and trying to come back was a lot of work.

But they loved it.

A very much anticipated visit to Buffalo Air.  They watch the show all the time and so this was a real treat.

One final good bye to the sign.  They had a great time and loved all their little adventures.  So much fun.

Our Last Day/Concentration Camp

This for me was so important to take Darien and Keagan to.  This is the concentration camp in Terezin.  I can honestly say this was a very humbling experience.

It was also very thought proving as you walk through and see what these poor people has to endure.

I don't remember what all the rooms were for but for the most part they were for no good.

The is was very long and dark tunnel they they had to walk down to different chambers.

This trip and all the things that we have seen and done has been amazing.  I feel so blessed to be able to take out children to these different countries to see family and friends and to make new memories.  I just hope that they remember them all.  Off to home now.  After 5 long but great weeks.

Can I just say that they really know how to make a play ground here in the Czech Republic.  Again the pictures just don't do it justice but it was amazing.  The boys loved climbing up.

I will be honest with you.  I was freaked out watching them climb.  I tried to get up there but there was so way.

The scariest part was when they would get to the top and have to climb into the structure.  Stefan was so little but managed to get in every time with a little bit of help from his brothers.

This was a great way to spend some kid time.  Just hanging around.

The Bone Church

We have been so blessed to stay at with some amazing people and we are so thankful to them for opening their homes to us.  We are a very large group but they have been amazing.  The boys enjoyed being able to play in the garden.

Climbing the tree was one of their personal favorite things to do.  Thankfully no one fell and broke any bones.  I can say that now that we are home.  LOL

Again we made our way to the country to do some more sight seeing.  At this point the boys were getting pretty tired of seeing castles and churches.  LOL

Each one has something unique about it though.  It is just hard to remember them all.

This was the biggest door.  LOL

The food is always so amazing.  They really know how to cook here.  This restaurant was perfect because while the adults ate the children could go and play in the court yard just outside.  Perfection!!

This is one church that I am sure they will not soon forget. Yes those are really human bones.  I have never seen anything like this in all my life.

Every part has some sort of display with bones.

I am not sure that the picture even does it justice.   Amazing, yet very creepy at the same time.

We thought that we would have the boys count all the bones that they could see but that would have been impossible.  Sure was a sight to see.

Prague Caslt and Dowtown Prague

This was our day spent in Prague the capital of the Czech Republic. 

As always the boys tried to get the guard to smile but it just wasn't going to happen.  LOL

I will never get tired of looking at the amazing architecture in Europe and being in awe of the amazing buildings and their age.

We got caught in a freak rain storm and I am pretty sure they were the biggest drops I have ever seen.  We managed to take cover under a tree and stay dry.

I am so thankful for the wonderful experience that Jamie had while serving his mission in this beautiful country and the joy that he has in sharing this with his boys.

Charles Bridge.

It is hard not to fall in love with this beautiful city/country when you husband loves it so much.  It really helps that he still speaks czech fluently.  In fact most people that he talks to thinks that he is Czech just living in Canada.  So proud of him.

I can't remember the name of this square but it is huge with store lining it all the way along.

Our walk home.  This trip has included a lot of walking but the boys have been super stars.

Our Accomidations in Milevsko and On to Prague.

W just wanted to share with you our amazing accommodations while in Milevsko.  This was such an old building and it totally reminded us of the pictures that you see from during the communist time.  We were watching the Olympics on an old black and white TV.  LOL

Not much to the bathroom.  But thankfully we were all clean.  LOL

We really enjoyed out time with Marketa's parents and appreciated all that they did with and for us.  The boys especially enjoyed visiting them at their sweet shop in town.  :)

Our final farewells with Julius and Blanka.  It was a great time and we look forward to seeing them again.

We were now off to Prague for the final leg of our trip.  First stop Karlstejn Castle.  This very much an iconic symbol for the Czech Republic.  This is were everyone goes.

I can still remember the first time that Jamie and I came to this castle.  It was great to take the boys to it.  The small town surrounding the castle is very beautiful also.
