Rylan's Injury

Of course while I was running my half marathon with Lara, Jamie was holding down the fort and taking the boys to all their various activities.  One of which included Rylan playing rugby and Stefan playing lacrosse sadly not at the same location but at the same time.  Anyway Jamie dropped Rylan off at his game and took Stefan to his but while he was there Jamie got a call that Rylan had been hurt and one of the moms was taking to the Stollery Hospital.  So Jamie arranged for one of the moms to take care of Stefan and he made his way to the hospital only to find out that Rylan had suffered a concussion.  Here he is laying on the bed not feeling so great.
They spent the next three hours in the hospital while they kept a close eye on him.  This isn't very good and Rylan is going to have to take it easy for a while but we are glad he is ok.
The next couple of days were spent looking like this.  Of course this stuff only happens when I am gone.  Poor guy.

Half Marathon and Stagget

So this day has been a long time in the planning.  Lara and I have been training for about 4 months to do this half marathon.  It was the hardest yet most rewarding thing I have ever done.  Growing up I was the least athletic.  I avoided running at all costs and even faked a few injuries to get out of gym class.  We were the fast on the course today but we finished it and I am so very proud of us.  I am so thankful that I had Lara pushing me along and encouraging me to try this or I never would have done it.  Will I do more?  Maybe but just knowing I have done one is great.
Our after race treat.
After the big race which was in Millerville, just south of Calgary.  I went back to Calgary to celebrate one of my best friends up coming wedding at her stagget.  Tammy and I have been friends for 20 plus years and she is near and dear to me.  She had a 60's theme stagget and we had professional pictures taken and makeup done.
It was a great way to spend the day.
I love this girl and am so thankful for her friendship.
The perfect ending to our day was seeing a rainbow.

Rugby Tournament

Rylan was involved in a rugby tournament this weekend and he loved it.  He loves playing this game even when he gets hurt.  He is a great tackler and gives it his all.  Way to go son.

Track

Rylan was in track and field this year.  So long with running he also did the long jump.  I am so thankful that my boys try everything.  They might not be the best but they will put their all into it.

Dentist Fun

This was a very fun filled day at the dentist.  I was in need of a root canal and other work so I opted to be sedated for it and boy was that fun.  It felt like hardly anytime at all had passed.  I will defiantly do it that way again.  LOL  My kids of course thought I was hilarious.
Poo Stefan didn't think so.  He wasn't feeling very well and ended up sleeping all the way home.

Wrestle Time

I had to share these couple of pictures because this truly is the day in the life of a mom of 4 boys.
There really isn't a day that one or more of them isn't wrestling an thankfully is doesn't happen too often that someone gets hurt.

Boys Trip San Fransico

It is Rylan's turn for his father son trip and this year he chose to go to San Francisco!!  Here he is pulling his luggage up the very big hill to their hotel.
First of many selfies for them.
That is Alcatraz in the background.
Rylan got to see his first ever peaceful protest of GMO's.  LOL
Enjoying some time on the piers.
They went to the aquarium.
And Rylan really enjoyed that.
Here they are at Pier 39
Their view of the bay.
Watching the sea lions.
Waiting in line for the cable car!!  Crazy long!
Finally getting on.
All aboard!!
They only did this ride a couple of times because of the long line ups.
I love this picture.  Yes they were holding on tight.
Having so much fun.
At the top of Lombard Street.

They rented bikes for the day and did a lot of sight seeing on them.
Going on the Navy ship.
Inside the navy ship with all their vehicles.
Alcatraz in the background.
This looks like a very yummy and filling lunch.

Rylan waiting for the ferry over to Alcatraz.
Finally on their way.  This is the main reason why he wanted to go to San. Fran.
Here he is at the front of the main building
Going inside.
Doing the self guided tour and stepping into one of the cells.
Happy to be there as a tourist only.
Not so happy about being in the cell.
He really enjoyed the tour and had all kinds of info to share with us.
A walk through China town.
Jamie even got a new hat.
Rylan really wanted to bring this home but it was too heavy.  That is one very large gummy bear.
Right up Rylan's alley, they visited the museum and had a great time and it was very hands on.
It doesn't get any better than a wacky mirror.  LOL
They had so much fun and saw so much stuff with this "Gocar"  It has two wheels at the front and one at the back and doesn't go very fast.
But it is a great way to get around and see a lot more of San Francisco.
The beautiful ocean behind in the background.
Taking the go car down Lumbard Street.
They reached the bottom.
Fisherman's Wharf
And finally renting bikes to ride to and across the Golden Gate bridge.
They are getting closer to their destination.
A view from under the bridge.
They didn't have the best of weather but they sure had a good time.
Rylan is such a little trouper and loves to have these special times with his dad.
Jamie enjoying the view.
Of course it wouldn't be an adventure without something happening and this time it was a mysterious rash that appeared all over Rylan's body.  Poor guy was not feeling very well.
Thankfully it happened right at the end of their trip and he could just relax in bed before they left.
