Sweet Rides

It is hard to believe that I have a child old enough to drive.  Yes here in Alberta we let our children learn to drive at the young age of 14!!!  So this is Darien's year.  He will have his learners for 2 years meaning he is only allowed to drive with an adult who has their license.  Then when he is 16 he can take the driving test to get his full license.  The crazy thing is he even has his own car already.  This is his sweet ride that he bought this summer while we were visiting my brother on the Vancouver Island.  It is a beater but great for a first car.  As you can see they have been working on it a little.
This awesome car is what we call the McCar.  Darien is now working at McDonald's and that is how he is paying for this sweet ride.  He bought it for $600 which is a real steel and it was total luck that he got it for that much.  It is a standard which is one of the reasons why we got it because we want to make sure that he will be able to drive any kind of car.  He is a very good driver and I feel very safe with him. Way to go son.
This is the other sweet ride that we now have.  I have always wanted a scooter and here it is.  Darien and I are sharing this awesome ride.  The great thing about this is that he can ride it by himself with his learners license which is so much fun for him.  I love it and so does he.  We are just cool like that on our orange scooter.  LOL

Mountain Bike Park

Today was a great day for spending some time mountain biking.  There is a town about 20 min from our home that has built a great terrain park and some nice hills so Darien and his friend when for the day.
They really had a great time taking the jumps.
I love the fact that my camera can do the action pictures.
Trying to make it all the way across.
After seeing the fun.  Rylan and Stefan wanted to get in on the action also.
It is perfect because they have a smaller course for the younger children.
Rylan really enjoyed it.
Stefan was feeling a little unsteady.
But managed to do a few little hills.  :)
Rylan even gave the jumps a try.
This was a great way to spend a beautiful fall day.

First Day of School

As is tradition for the first day of school.  Picture time!!!  Rylan is starting grade 4 this year and is still in french immersion.  He is so excited to have Mme. Berube this year.  We know her very well and it should be great.
Stefan my baby is starting Grade 1.  It is so hard to believe that this day has finally come that all my children are at school full time.  I am feeling a little lost at the thought of not having anyone home with me.  But Stefan is so excited to be starting.  He is lucky to have a very sweet teacher this year Mrs. Bliss.  She is gentle and lovely so it will be a great start to school for this guy.
Keagan my big man.  It is starting Grade 6 and funny enough he has the same teacher that Darien had Ms. Epp.  She is an amazing teacher.  She offers to much to her students in the way of learning and getting to know them.  She really cares about each of them.  I know that Keagan is going to do amazing in her class.  She will challenge him to be the best he can be.
I had to include this picture.  LOL
Darien is such a ham that it was hard to get him to give me a serious picture.
The poses were priceless.  LOL
Finally one serious one.  Darien is starting high school this year.  Grade 9 is a big year full of new challenges and plenty of change but I think Darien is up for it.  He is ready to move on and try something new.  It will be interesting to see how the changes go.  This is a whole new world and I am sure it will be an eye opener for him but it will be a year of growth.  He can do it.  He even got his first job.  He is now working at McDonald's and enjoying all the perks that come with that.  LOL
My boys!!  I love each of them so much and they are so different and yet in some ways so alike.  They are my pride and joy and I couldn't have asked for better boys.  Trust me they are far from perfect but most days they are good ;)
I miss them already but on the flip side it will be great to have some mommy time.  LOL
Stefan age 6.
Rylan age 8
Keagan age 11
And the funny one..
hiding behind the tree...
full of personality.
Darien age 14.
Keagan took his scooter to school so he could ride it home.
Getting close to those final days of being able to take a picture of him in class.  LOL
My babies all grown up walking to school.
Big man on campus Rylan.
Stefan so little but yet so big.  Here's to a great year ahead. (fingers crossed  lol)
