Fabulous Weekend
This was a wonderful trip. Our third annual Vancouver Sun Run weekend. This is a weekend that we have all really come to look forward to. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends that I can spend this time with and we are all blessed to have supportive husbands that give us this time away. At usual we stay at my moms house. This year we were pretty excited to head over the border the first day for some retail therapy. This is everyone enjoying a picinic lunch in my moms van.
We were very blessed with the opportunity to go to the new Vancouver Temple. It was beautiful inside and out.
It is hard to believe that there is a temple now so close to were I grew up. Gone are the days of full day trips to go to the temple. My mom is so excited and I can really see why. We had a very enjoyable evening and then headed out for a late dinner.
The next day we were on our way to Vancouver for our over night stay. This year we stayed in a different hotel and we were very happy with the room.
This if the view from my bed. What an amazing view of the North Shore moutains. The lights at night were so neat to see.
After doing some exploring down town we were off to a great sushi restaurant. We enjoyed our meal and the novelty of cooking our own food right on our table.
This was a very serious weekend and we were totally focussed. LOL
Great friends with great food. I know I have said before but I will say it again. Life is great!!!
We loved our hats. It was the best way to keep track of each other during the run. We were all very happy with our times this year each beating our times from last year. Next year will be even better.
This year the race fell on mothers day and it was great to actually be able to spend the day with my mom. I am very blessed to have my mom and she really is the greatest mom. I was happy to finally be able to buy her a gift for this special day instead of just a phone call and a card. Here we are putting her two new patio chairs together. I can't wait to go back and visit just to sit on these comfy chairs. Thanks mom for opening your home to us again this year and driving us around all over the lower mainland. LOL

Are You Serious!!
We know that we live in Alberta and that there is always that risk of having a spring storm but this is a little bit much!!! The snow was just like BC snow very wet and heavy.
I was really hoping that it would only stay for the day but it took a few more days for it to go, but thankfully we have not had more since, but you never know it is only May still. LOL

Uncle Doug is HOME!!!
There has never been a happier time for us. Doug has come home safe and sound and there is someone in our home that couldn't be happier. Finally our prayers can turn to thanks, thanks for the fact that Doug has come home safe and sound. We have been waiting for this day for the last six months. Keagan has been counting down for the last month.
Doug is one of the greatest young men that I know. We are so happy to see that he has come home the "same" Doug. He has the same happy, free loving personality that he had when he left. We know that there are things that he will never be able to describe or share and that there are things that he has experienced that we may never know about but he is Doug and for that we are thankful.

Women's Conference
This was a wonderful weekend. I really didn't expect to be going to Salt Lake City but after reconnecting with a friend from 16 years ago, we decided to have a get together for the weekend and it was a ton of fun with a lot of memories shared and some wonderful classes.
I was amazed at how many women go to this conference. This was the opening ceremonies.
We had two days filled with wonderful classes on how be better wives, mothers, friends and how to grow closer to our Savior. It was so uplifting!!
I have heard so much about the brownies that we could not resist trying them. They were great. I would go back again just to have one more brownie. LOL This is my dear friend Leah. We met when I was about 16 and we spent many a weekend together going to dances and just having a great time. I can't believe how quickly time goes by but really getting back together was just like the weekends we used to spend together just with the added benefit of having wonderful families now.
They had a concert on the Thurs. night and it was amazing. They had the "Fab Five" and many other wonderful singers.
We even managed to squeeze in some shopping time.
On the final day of the conference they had one big meeting and we were able to listen to some woderful speakers.
All I can say is amazing when you looked around and saw all the women there.
We were very blessed to listen to Dallen H. Oaks and his amazing wife.
I was so thankful that I was able to go to this wonderful conference. I am thankful for a husband that loves and supports me and encourages me to take time to be the best that I can be. Jamie is an amazing father. He was even willing to take on a crazy weekend with the boys. They had one practice each night, on sat. they had three different picture times for lacrosse and then two more games. All I can say is that Jamie is super dad. Thanks sweetie for supporting me. You truly are amazing.

Girls Trip
Jamie was asked by the young women from our church to drive them in the bus down south for a trip to the temple. So they gathered at out house on Fri. after work and headed down south with their leaders.
They had a ton of fun traveling in the bus and had all kinds of games and activities planned for their trip.
They were spread through the whole bus. I wish that I could have gone but it was great for Jamie to be involved in the trip.
Just as a side note we have sold our much loved purple bus. After giving it a lot of thought we realized that it wasn't for us. As much as we loved traveling in it, we found that when we got the our destination we had no vehicle to go exploring in. Our favorite things to do are go hiking and biking and we couldn't do that without having a vehicle to drive in. It was a hard choice but we think that it was the right choice. We have replaced it with another trailer. A little bit longer with some added features. We are very excited about our up coming summer trip.

Waiting
Stefan must be my last because I am not in a very big hurry for him to grow up. We have been really busy just recently with a stomach bug going through the family and Stefan and the girls have had it the worst, so there has has been a lot of laundry being done. Stefan one night threw up on his blankie. His soother and blankie are his most favorite things!!!
He was so desperate to get it back that he sat and waited for it.
