Halloween 2013

This is the final year of Darien dressing up for Halloween.  He decided to go with what he loved and was a pilot.
The only reason why he did was for Air Cadets.  The actual day and night of Halloween was spent handing out candy and no dressing up for Darien.  I guess he will just buy his own candy from now on.  LOL
We got to go to the boys school in the afternoon and watch them do their Halloween Parade.  It was great because we got to see a special someone and boy was he cute in his little skunk costume.  ;)
Stefan as spiderman with his teacher as an old lady.
Rylan was so excited to see his special someone.
Rylan and his buddy.  So cute.
Rylan the muscle man and his teacher the beauty queen.
Keagan did army all the way.
It was amazing to not have snow while out trick or treating.
Rylan had the weights for pictures.  All the candy that he got was enough weight lifting for one night.  LOL
It was a beautiful evening and the boys had a great time.
It did get a little cold when the wind picked up but they still managed to come home with a ton of candy.  :)
The last two standing.  :)

Happy Birthday Ry Guy

My baby is getting so big.  It is hard to believe that Rylan is now 9 years old.  I really can't get my head around it.   When I look at him I still think of him as being 8.  LOL
As is our tradition we had a very quiet birthday just with our family.  I am not a very good mom when it comes to birthday parties.  I am sure my kids will always feel jaded but what can I say, they are just not me.
But I think we manage to make it a special day.  Rylan opening his gifts.
Enjoying his cake.  He is the only one of all the boys with a nick name.  For some reason we have always called him Ry Guy.  LOL
Nice picture I know with the hood and all.
You are one of the greatest kids I know.  You have a way of making everyone feel welcome and you get along with everyone.  Children are drawn to you kind spirit and sense of humor.  We love you just the way you are.  Never change.  Love you Ry Guy.

Calgary Long Weekend

So here we are for another fun filled Thanks Giving Weekend.  This year we were able to go down to Calgary to visit some great friends and go for some fun hikes in Canmore.  It started off great but I must admit that it did turn a little scary just as we were getting ready to head to Canmore.  We had stopped as a large group at the grocery store to grab a few things and get gas.  Jamie, Darien and Tammy had gone into the store to get the groceries and as they were walking back towards the cars Jamie was crossing the road and a car that had stopped all of a sudden hit the gas pedal and hit him.  It was all so quick and sudden.  It was hard to believe that it had actually happened.  Come to find out it was a student driver.  Thankfully Jamie was able to jump up a little as the car hit him, so he didn't go under the front end and he even rolled off the hood and landed on his feet.  He was very shaken and in shock and of course thought everything was ok.  After exchanging information we decide to carry on to Canmore and see how he felt when we got there.  He was swore but felt fine but as we kept driving things got a little worst.  Finally by the time we made it to Canmore we knew he needed to see a doctor.  So we went to the hospital there.  He had some minor whip lash and some bruises but the most part he would be fine.  Really who would have thought.  Anyway we tried not to let it stop us.  We took some time and then headed out for a hike with the kids.
I took the more adventurous ones and we did the more challenging hike and it was great.
It was the perfect day for a hike.  I love these emerald pools at the top of this hike.
Of course you can't go there without taking a look in the caves.
Me and my boys.  I love these type of memories.
One day I will look back at these pictures and be so thankful for all the memories we were able to have.
Even the silly pictures.  LOL
Me and my damaged hunnny.  LOL  I told him if he was a cat he would be down to 7 lives and that I am not ok with that.  No more accidents.
Keagan is getting so big.
This was our hiking view.  Amazing!!!
This was a lot easier going down than up.  LOL
Our group at the falls.  Thanks for the great weekend Tammy and Jim.

Fire Hall Fieldtrip

I am so thankful that I am able to field trips with my boys.  This will probably be one of the last times that I get to go to the fire hall.
Stefan and all his classmates having a good look at the truck and hoses.
These are the memories I don't ever want to forget.
I love being a stay at home mom.  Such a blessing.

Sweet Rides

It is hard to believe that I have a child old enough to drive.  Yes here in Alberta we let our children learn to drive at the young age of 14!!!  So this is Darien's year.  He will have his learners for 2 years meaning he is only allowed to drive with an adult who has their license.  Then when he is 16 he can take the driving test to get his full license.  The crazy thing is he even has his own car already.  This is his sweet ride that he bought this summer while we were visiting my brother on the Vancouver Island.  It is a beater but great for a first car.  As you can see they have been working on it a little.
This awesome car is what we call the McCar.  Darien is now working at McDonald's and that is how he is paying for this sweet ride.  He bought it for $600 which is a real steel and it was total luck that he got it for that much.  It is a standard which is one of the reasons why we got it because we want to make sure that he will be able to drive any kind of car.  He is a very good driver and I feel very safe with him. Way to go son.
This is the other sweet ride that we now have.  I have always wanted a scooter and here it is.  Darien and I are sharing this awesome ride.  The great thing about this is that he can ride it by himself with his learners license which is so much fun for him.  I love it and so does he.  We are just cool like that on our orange scooter.  LOL

Mountain Bike Park

Today was a great day for spending some time mountain biking.  There is a town about 20 min from our home that has built a great terrain park and some nice hills so Darien and his friend when for the day.
They really had a great time taking the jumps.
I love the fact that my camera can do the action pictures.
Trying to make it all the way across.
After seeing the fun.  Rylan and Stefan wanted to get in on the action also.
It is perfect because they have a smaller course for the younger children.
Rylan really enjoyed it.
Stefan was feeling a little unsteady.
But managed to do a few little hills.  :)
Rylan even gave the jumps a try.
This was a great way to spend a beautiful fall day.
