Day One Cruise 2015

There is nothing better than getting on a the ship for day one of a cruise.  It is that time of year when winter starts to feel a little bit too long here in Alberta and a vacation is just what the doctor ordered.  This is the first vacation that I have taken with my sister and her family and it was very exciting.
There were a lot of first time cruisers with us.  The Hogg's and family came along.  This is us just getting ready to leave Miami
If there is a pool then you must swim in it.  haha  It was a little cold though.
Brrr.
Can you tell by his face that it was a little chilly.  LOL
Time to wrap up and head down for dinner.
We had the best view out the back of the ship each night for dinner.  We loved it.
First of many dinners.  This was the "kids" table.  They had a great time.
There was 34 of us in total for this trip.
And there was never a dull moment.
First night with a movie under the stars.  Let the fun begin.  :)

Christmas Eve 2014

It is time for some Christmas Eve fun.  Once again we are celebrating with our dear friends the Marsdens.
Jamie and Renea having some fun.
We had a great time playing some really fun games.  My favortite was the "After Eight" challenge.
You start with the After Eight on your forehead.
You then have to move it down and into your mouth without using your hands.
We all had a go and did great.
We actually won every round that we played in.
Jamie did great.
This is my favorite because these are some of my favorite mints.. LOL
I love the look on moms face.
At the end we all had to compete against each other because one of us had one each round.  LOL  I am pretty sure I won in the end.  LOL
As is tradition we have to open one present on Christmas Eve.
And it is always the same thing.  PJ's!!!
I know they looked so excited but that is the fun.
Even Jamie got some sweet PJ's this year from his mom.
These are a elf pj's are a great look on Jamie.
Darien as Dracula
Keagan as superman.  Such a great evening.

Keagan and Jamie in Portland

Boys trip to Portland Oregon.  Keagan and Jamie were off for a fun filled weekend.
They got some yummy treats to start off their trip.
Their first stop was at Great Wolf Lodge with Grandma Penni and his cousins.

It was a great place with all kinds of things for them to do.
They were able to see some amazing water falls and do a little bit of hiking.  I love the west coast and all the beauty that this there.
These are some pretty spectacular falls.
We are thinking about going here this next summer.
They stopped at the Portland Temple.  This was one of my favourite temples growing up and I had hoped to be married here but we had to stay a little closer to home.
They went to a museum and I am not sure which one.
They saw a lot of old planes which Keagan liked.
Keagan likes history things and world war times.
Always have to do a little bit of sight seeing.
The high light for Keagan was attending his first ever NBA Game.
They had great seats and he was over the moon.
Cloud nine as he would say.  He was hooked and can't wait to go again.
He might need to save up some money for the next one.  LOL

Another very successful father son trip.  Oh the places we will go.

Christmas Concerts

I love this time of year.  Christmas Concerts are so much fun.  We are down to the final two for who is doing them.  It is almost sad but one day we will be back for our grandchildren. :)
Stefan singing his heart out.
My boys are so cute and I love them.
Rylan even did a great job.
He might only have one more year left of concerts.  So cute.

Our Parent Mistake

Sometimes in life we as parents make mistakes and this would be one of ours.  After talking about it for a while we agreed to let Darien get a new car and possibly even a truck but sadly we got caught up in this sweet ride.  We agreed to get the truck only to realize after the fact that it was a little bit of a lemon and had to break the news to Darien that it wasn't going to work out.  There were some very sad days leading up to the sale.  I must admit it was a great looking truck but it was going to be a money pit and we couldn't let that happen to him.  We bid farewell to the truck and will find something better.  We all makes mistakes and this one was ours.
