Brothers in Inuvik

This year it was David's (Jamie's little brother) turn to go to Inuvik with Jamie for an experience of a life time.  ;)  Getting ready to board their plane.
Their new home for the next couple of days.
Doing some outdoor exploring.  They actually snow shoed out to their rustic cabin.  It took them about 45 min.  Jamie said it was amazing.
At the cabin they had everything ready.  All the candles were lit and dinner was ready.
They even put on their bathing suites to take a turn in the hot tub.
This hot tub is made of cedar.  The water is pumped up from the lake and then heated up using wood under it.  An great experience.
Dave taking a load off.
I love this picture of the two of them snow shoeing back with the moon in the back round.
What a great start to their trip.  Even if it was a little bit cold.  LOL

Take Your Child To Work Day

This was a great day for Darien and Jamie.  Jamie's work every year does a take your child to work day when they are in grade 9.  This year was Darien's year and it was also the year that Jamie was in charge of it.  Jamie had a great time planning it all out and he did an amazing job.  He managed to get some private tours of some planes.
This is the crew in the rental van getting ready to go on the jet way.
Touring the big jet.
This is a great picture.  Everyone had such a good time.
Darien inside the engine of a 737.
Their view from the van.
This was a great way to spend the day.
Up in the tower.  Darien is hoping that he can go again next year even though he will be too old.  I am sure that Jamie will be able to swing that for him.  ;)

Halloween 2013

This is the final year of Darien dressing up for Halloween.  He decided to go with what he loved and was a pilot.
The only reason why he did was for Air Cadets.  The actual day and night of Halloween was spent handing out candy and no dressing up for Darien.  I guess he will just buy his own candy from now on.  LOL
We got to go to the boys school in the afternoon and watch them do their Halloween Parade.  It was great because we got to see a special someone and boy was he cute in his little skunk costume.  ;)
Stefan as spiderman with his teacher as an old lady.
Rylan was so excited to see his special someone.
Rylan and his buddy.  So cute.
Rylan the muscle man and his teacher the beauty queen.
Keagan did army all the way.
It was amazing to not have snow while out trick or treating.
Rylan had the weights for pictures.  All the candy that he got was enough weight lifting for one night.  LOL
It was a beautiful evening and the boys had a great time.
It did get a little cold when the wind picked up but they still managed to come home with a ton of candy.  :)
The last two standing.  :)

Happy Birthday Ry Guy

My baby is getting so big.  It is hard to believe that Rylan is now 9 years old.  I really can't get my head around it.   When I look at him I still think of him as being 8.  LOL
As is our tradition we had a very quiet birthday just with our family.  I am not a very good mom when it comes to birthday parties.  I am sure my kids will always feel jaded but what can I say, they are just not me.
But I think we manage to make it a special day.  Rylan opening his gifts.
Enjoying his cake.  He is the only one of all the boys with a nick name.  For some reason we have always called him Ry Guy.  LOL
Nice picture I know with the hood and all.
You are one of the greatest kids I know.  You have a way of making everyone feel welcome and you get along with everyone.  Children are drawn to you kind spirit and sense of humor.  We love you just the way you are.  Never change.  Love you Ry Guy.

Calgary Long Weekend

So here we are for another fun filled Thanks Giving Weekend.  This year we were able to go down to Calgary to visit some great friends and go for some fun hikes in Canmore.  It started off great but I must admit that it did turn a little scary just as we were getting ready to head to Canmore.  We had stopped as a large group at the grocery store to grab a few things and get gas.  Jamie, Darien and Tammy had gone into the store to get the groceries and as they were walking back towards the cars Jamie was crossing the road and a car that had stopped all of a sudden hit the gas pedal and hit him.  It was all so quick and sudden.  It was hard to believe that it had actually happened.  Come to find out it was a student driver.  Thankfully Jamie was able to jump up a little as the car hit him, so he didn't go under the front end and he even rolled off the hood and landed on his feet.  He was very shaken and in shock and of course thought everything was ok.  After exchanging information we decide to carry on to Canmore and see how he felt when we got there.  He was swore but felt fine but as we kept driving things got a little worst.  Finally by the time we made it to Canmore we knew he needed to see a doctor.  So we went to the hospital there.  He had some minor whip lash and some bruises but the most part he would be fine.  Really who would have thought.  Anyway we tried not to let it stop us.  We took some time and then headed out for a hike with the kids.
I took the more adventurous ones and we did the more challenging hike and it was great.
It was the perfect day for a hike.  I love these emerald pools at the top of this hike.
Of course you can't go there without taking a look in the caves.
Me and my boys.  I love these type of memories.
One day I will look back at these pictures and be so thankful for all the memories we were able to have.
Even the silly pictures.  LOL
Me and my damaged hunnny.  LOL  I told him if he was a cat he would be down to 7 lives and that I am not ok with that.  No more accidents.
Keagan is getting so big.
This was our hiking view.  Amazing!!!
This was a lot easier going down than up.  LOL
Our group at the falls.  Thanks for the great weekend Tammy and Jim.

Fire Hall Fieldtrip

I am so thankful that I am able to field trips with my boys.  This will probably be one of the last times that I get to go to the fire hall.
Stefan and all his classmates having a good look at the truck and hoses.
These are the memories I don't ever want to forget.
I love being a stay at home mom.  Such a blessing.

Cross Country

Another year of cross country running.  Rylan joined the team again this year.
I love seeing my boys participate in these types of things.
Here he comes up the hill.  The final stretch.  Way to go Rylan.
