Knee Boarding and Snappy Crabs

So this is Rylan going for a huge rock crab. Yes he even managed to get a hold of it.
This is the aftermath. :( The crab got a hold of him with one of it claws and the results were not pretty. Poor guy.

He was so excited and then it hurt so bad. The worst part was that as he was freaking out about it being on his finger he flung it off and then slipped on the rocks that were covered in barnacles. He had to have a little rest before carrying on with his day. But he did recover. :)

He covered so much that he even managed to go out and do some knee boarding and it was awesome to watch him. Here he is kicking his way back to the shore. I just have to say that the water was FREEZING!!!!

Getting ready for his ride.

And off he goes. Each of the boys made it look so easy.

Keagan getting ready for his turn. He was a little bit more nervous but was a super star just like his brothers.

I love this picture. Making his way back to shore and trying to stay out of the cold water as much as possible.

The action shot.

Darien was a pro. He was the first to go and he even made me believe that I would be able to do it. LOL

He even started going over the wake. :)

So like I said, I thought for sure that I would be able to do it because the boys made it look so easy but as you can see it didn't go so well. LOL and boy was that water cold.

My second try was way better. I managed to stay up the whole time.

Here is my action shot. I was a little bit nervous about falling back in that water that I just held on for dear life. ;)

Stefan enjoying some snacks.

Uncle P showing Rylan some moves.

We went back to the boat and just spent the evening relaxing while the boys caught shrimp off the dock. What a great day. Thanks to P and J for a wonderful day.

Hiking Pender Island

The pre-hike excitement. Keagan showing his hiking skills. LOL
It wouldn't be a day at the beach unless you have crabs to catch.

This was the before picture of the group ready to go. We were a little bit more tired after the hike. LOL

Stefan enjoying his time with Uncle P.

I like this picture of Rylan and my brother.

Stefan was very tired. It was a pretty difficult hike for little legs.

We were happy when we finally made it to the top. The view was beautiful.

It isn't very often that I get to hang out with my big brother. It was a great week together. I am really excited because we are planning a get away in Feb. It will be the first official vacation that I have ever been on with my brother and it will be wonderful. With an 11 year gap between us it is hard to really remember growing up together so it is wonderful now to make new memories that I will be able to remember. :)

Vancouver Island Fun

We were really excited to head over to the Vancouver Island to spend some time with my brother and his family. It was a little bit windy heading through Deception Pass. My handsome boys on the ferry.
We were only there for one night than it was off on their boat for the next four days. We had to load up a lot of stuff for all the people that were going. It is a beautiful boat.

Here the boys are staying out of the way while we are leaving the marina. I know that I have said it before but I will say it again, thank goodness for technology.

Jamie even got to do some driving.

We stayed at a very beautiful marina on Pender Island. This was the best way to go "camping". They had the perfect pool for the kids to play in. My nephew "E" and Keagan showing us their moves.

As usual the boys loved the hot tub.

Stefan was not big enough to go out with the big boys and so he had to watch. Looks a little sad but he had fun.

The boys really enjoyed the freedom of being able to go out in the kayaks and go explore the beach.

Even Rylan got in on the action and he did great. My brother went with the boys to put out some crab traps and Rylan rowed all the way out to the traps. He was a super star.

Stefan was so excited to go out with daddy. This was a great start to a great trip.

Seawall Biking

Another great tradition. I hope that our kids look back on their summers and see what great times we had. I will never get tired of going to Vancouver to bike the Seawall. The only thing that really changes each year is that the boys get bigger.
It was a beautiful day and the boys spent some time at the water park.

Our poor sweat Rylan wasn't feeling very well that day and by about the half way point he had developed a fever and was feeling really under the weather. But with no way to get back to the cars he had to ride back and he was such a little trooper. We stopped often and he would have a little sleep while the other boys played and then he would be good again to keep going. He did awesome. He even got some free watches for him and his brothers.

Exploring the beach and finding their treasures.

The love of my life. Jamie is my best friend and the one that I turn to for support and love. He means the world to me. The last 8 months have been a real challenge since the car accident but we are slowly getting back to normal. Sadly he is still suffering from headaches but hopefully when we get back the doctors will be able to figure it out. Until then we are going to enjoy our summer and be thankful for everything that we have together.

The boys playing on the old fire truck in Stanley Park.

We met up with Great Grandpa and the rest of the family for some dinner at our old stomping grounds were Jamie and I used to go on our dates. Fresgo's gives you a ton of food which was an understatement for what Grandpa had for dinner. I am pretty sure that he was eating meatballs for the next week with all the food that he got. LOL

Airshow 2011

We are always so excited that the Abbotsford Airshow was on while we were there. Stefan loved sitting in this plane.
The boys waited in line for a long time to get on this plane. I think that it reminded them of the planes that they fly on the computer.

We even went with the cousins. It was the perfect day to go not too hot but beautiful.

I love this picture. These two have a very special bond.

Keagan just sat back and enjoyed the show.

This airshow just gets better and better every year. The boys really enjoyed.

There are some amazing performers.

The famous helicopter of Canada.

The snow birds. They put on a really great show. What a wonderful day!!!
